Things are truly starting off to choose up steam in the apartment! I’m generally sharing genuine-time updates on Instagram but I desired to write-up some much more pics of the new headboard here because I love it SO a great deal. I’m so glad that Jen and I decided on using Bowood for this piece. To say it’s been transformed is an understatement. As you may well recall, the headboard is the Pondicherry from Serena and Lily, in a gray linen that they made available. I preferred it but was never ever around the moon about it, and immediately after a number of several years it absolutely experienced a couple of stains and was in need of a makeover. I briefly considered receiving a distinct headboard completely, or a mattress (I truly desired a brass bed!), but in the end we decided that reupholstering this was the finest option. I’m essentially actually happy we were being capable to reuse some thing I previously had – and seeing it in this new cloth has created me realize how significantly I really enjoy the condition and lines of it. Like, Like!
We utilised Jen’s upholsterer for this venture, and I know I’m a terrible blogger because this would be considerably more appealing or educational for men and women if I had like, DIY’ed it! Or additional interesting if I’d discovered it secondhand or what have you. Alas, I am not a DIYer and I am not lucky sufficient (or individual enough) to come across a piece like this secondhand! So we utilized a qualified and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It is just spectacular and severely will make the room. I have generally preferred Bowood but I have to say, it is even a lot more impactful and attractive in particular person. Also wanted to observe that I used Bowood Union, which is the model which is a combine of cotton, nylon and linen. Standard Bowood is 100% cotton and arrives in a couple of colorways. My colorway is eco-friendly/gray. I selected this for the reason that there are two neutral colorways of the 100% cotton Bowood – eco-friendly/gray, or white/leaf (there are also blue and pink versions). The eco-friendly/gray experienced a incredibly beige floor, and the white/leaf had a quite white floor. It was hard to make your mind up because I preferred both equally in unique methods – the beige ground experienced a really tea-colored, antique glance, but the white/leaf was quite clean up hunting. Luckily there was a best resolution – Bowood Union in green/grey. It has a beige ground that is not AS beige as the other version – so it’s seriously the perfect medium in between the two. Bewildering, probably! I felt it was critical to do my investigate and see all of the colour and cloth solutions in advance of selecting, so I’m happy I did that.
I also wanted to share how substantially I appreciate my Sarah K. Patterns bedding! I uncovered it by (who else?) Louise Roe, and just experienced to have it – even though figuring out British isles sizing was a bit of a head-scratcher. I have usually just been wholly enamored with ditsy florals so there was no problem in my head that I essential this quilt and pillow set. It is so pretty and charming. The colours, the print, the ruffles…just ideal. I have a whole sizing bed and I’m fairly sure I obtained the British isles King dimensions. It suits perfectly and it is truly tender and at ease. (By the way, I truly will need to change the drum shades – I’m considering of doing a pleated inexperienced material!). It’s really strange, I applied to normally find sleeping less than my cover super awkward and it felt actually incredibly hot and way too weighty with a linen quilt deal with on it…but ever since I switched to this one particular, I have no challenges and find it seriously comfy. Was it the cover protect all this time that was the problem, not the quilt alone?! I actually in no way suspected! Bizarre.
I just simply cannot believe that how a lot I love Bowood! It’s these types of a perfect mix of sensation variety of classic and antique, but also new and lively. There is nothing at all fusty or fussy about it. It is form of a fantastic cloth and I could possibly go in advance and do curtains in it too, for the reason that it’s just so great.
Loads additional updates that I will need to photograph and share – thanks for following!
